Last week two things occurred on the same day, which are significant in the light of fulfilment of prophecy. The first was the publication of the Australian plebiscite on same sex marriage, a clear ‘Yes’ vote in favour, with only 40% or so against. Intrinsically I believe this was simply because of the nation’s ignorance of what this really meant. Hosea 4:6, ‘my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. “”Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.’ NIV.
‘Love is love’ was the message the Yes campaigners had pushed, but sodomy and rebellion against God’s sacred institution of the natural productive marriage was what it boiled down to, and the ‘Christian’ Church failed to get that message across because it was afraid to offend the left’s ‘politically correct’ brigade. The fact is that the churches of todays ‘Christianity’ carry a heavy responsibility in failing to deliver Christ’s message ,
Matthew 7:22-23, ‘On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
They have left their congregations in blind ignorance of God’s commandments and laws, and as a result, its principles seem impractical in todays perverted, politically correct society, Hosea 8:12,’ I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing.’ The result will be God’s punishment upon our nation, Hosea 13:6-9, ‘When I fed them, they were satisfied, when they were satisfied, they became proud; then they forgot me. So I will be like a lion to them, like a leopard I will lurk by the path. Like a bear robbed of her cubs, I will attack them and rip them open; like a lion I will devour them—a wild animal [‘The Beast’ of prophecy] will tear them apart.’ The Bible makes it clear that this punishment involves invasion and slavery because we are largely descended from still rebellious Ephraim, a leading tribe in ancient Israel, to whom the book of Hosea is addressed in a duality of prophecy, one for us in the End Time. The second event on that same day was the release of an Australian Strategic Policy Institute paper by Professors Dibb and Brain Smith, from the Australian National University, both former Senior Defence Officials in our government, who warned that “”China is developing military capabilities that could come to threaten us directly”” .
Australia’s defence policy, as set out in successive White Papers, has been based on an assumption that no nation in the region has the capability to mount an invasion, but circumstances have changed and that is soon likely to no longer be the case, and defence planning must deal with reality. Both India and Indonesia have developed anti-access and sea-denial capabilities, but the paper warns that it is Beijing’s illegal, aggressive policies towards the South China Sea, and the way it is seeking political domination over countries in South East Asia, and even attempting to influence politics here in Australia, which provides a serious threat.
Because of China’s militarisation of the South China Sea, by building artificial islands on reefs and setting up military facilities on them, its power projection capabilities are now 1200 km closer to Australia’s North. The paper concludes that Australia too, needs to develop ‘anti-access and area denial’ capability to exploit China’s military weaknesses when operating so far from its homeland, such as the co-ordinated use of submarines, aircraft, mines and missile systems to make it too costly for any enemy to operate in a contested area near Australia.
We have run down our defence forces in the past 15 years because of our pre-occupation with Afghanistan and the Middle East. The time to do something is now. The Bible clearly prophesies that China will succeed in building an Eastern combine of nations which can field an army of 200 million, Revelation 9:16, ‘The number of mounted troops was twice ten thousand times ten thousand; I heard their number.’ While this army will cross the Euphrates to attack the Middle East and Europe, we should not ignore another prophecy in Genesis 9:27 which indicates significant movement into both Africa and Australia. ‘God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.’
Two ‘coincidental’ events in one day, both reflecting the partial fulfilment of End Time prophecy, a complete fulfilment of which means that Australia will pay a heavy penalty for its naive, ignorant and rebellious choices, including its toleration of same sex marriage.
